Claudia McGehee

Claudia McGehee has been a free-lance illustrator for over 10 years.  Her favorite medium is scratchboard, a specially prepared board with a white clay surface that an illustration can be scratched out of an applied ink layer with a sharp blade, imitating the visual quality of a woodcut.  McGehee’s interests in history, archeology, and nature often find their way into her work.  She holds degrees in Anthropology and Graphic Design.  Originally from the Pacific Northwest, she now lives in Iowa City, Iowa with her husband, daughter and cat.
