Here is my podcast which has some really interesting information regarding a way that libraries are teaming up with Second Life and Machinima to create some interesting projects for teens. The project is specifically working with the non-profit organization Global Kids to give teens from typically underserved populations the opportunity to have some usual learning experiences by combining technology and libraries. These teens had the opportunity to working with a gaming software, Machinima, to create videos that deal with global issues, and have forums within the Library InfoIsland on Second Life. These teens were able to work virtually with other teens from around the world to create several public service announcements and one longer video regarding child soldiers. The results are quite remarkable. Check out my podcast about this great project!
