
Candace Fleming
Candace Fleming is the versatile and award-winning author of several books for
children, including MUNCHA! MUNCHA! MUNCHA! (Simon & Schuster, 2002) which
was an American Library Association Notable Book, a School Library Journal Best
Book and the 2005 California Young Reader Medalist. The book was recently named
one of "Ten New Classics" by Bank Street College of Education. She
has also written Our Eleanor (Simon & Schuster 2005) and Ben Franklin's Alamanac (Simon & Schuster, 2004), both named ALA Notable Book, as well as Best Books
for Young Adults by the American Library Association, Publisher's Weekly Best
Books and School Library Best Books. Other books include, Boxes for Katje (FSG,
2003), the 2006 California Young Reader Medalist, Lowji Discovers America (Simon & Schuster,
2005), and Gator Gumbo (FSG, 2004). Her latest book, TIPPY-TIPPY-TIPPY-HIDE (a
sequel to MUNCHA! MUNCHA! MUNCHA!) will be published in Spring, 2007.
