The College of New Jersey is a highly selective, comprehensive residential institution recognized as one of the outstanding public colleges in the country. Located between New York City and Philadelphia in suburban Ewing Township, The College enrolls approximately 6,000 undergraduates and 900 graduate students. We are currently seeking candidates to fill a 12-month, tenure-track position at the TCNJ Library.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Catalog library materials in all formats and languages. Perform authority work and maintain authority files. Create metadata using both traditional and emerging metadata schema. Collaborate and provide significant guidance on the creation and development of library digital projects. Provide limited reference service. Engage in scholarly and service activities expected of tenure-track librarians.

Qualifications:
Requirements: ALA-accredited Master’s degree. Knowledge of current cataloging standards, including AACR, LCSH, LC classification, MARC 21, and OCLC. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Initiative, flexibility and a strong service orientation are essential.

Preferred: Cataloging experience in an academic library. Experience with authority control services. Familiarity with NACO. Familiarity with DDC. Knowledge of emerging metadata schema. Awareness and understanding of digital collection management and digital preservation strategies. General knowledge of reference and collection development. Knowledge of integrated library systems, preferably Voyager. An additional graduate degree is highly desirable. Knowledge of one or more Western European languages.

Rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary ranges: Librarian III (Instructor in the Library) $49,124 - 76,148; Librarian II (Assistant Professor in the Library) $59,712 - 92,569; with full benefits package including TIAA/CREF.
