Chevron Business and Real Estate Services (CBRES) is accepting online applications for the position of Digital Asset Management Specialist located in San Ramon, California through April 1, 2008.
Overview:
During the last several years, Information Design and Communications (IDC) has grown into a dynamic communications team that delivers technical writing, Web, and high-end print and design services. Due to the digital nature of IDC’s products, the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system will be managed within our department in partnership with IT. DAM will be an aspect of IDC’s workflow process and is an integral part of how IDC will operate and maintain their archive for our clients and across the Corporation at large to ensure alignment with all applicable corporate policies. This new position will be responsible for the ongoing population and maintenance of IDC generated or acquired digital assets and other archive assets in the DAM system, as required, in compliance with corporate taxonomy, policies and DAM Governance Council best practices.
The candidate in this position will collaborate with the DAM Consultant, Account Management Supervisors, CBRES IT and fellow DAM Specialists to fulfill the requirements of the DAM support team. And will work closely with IDC staff to support the ingestion of assets according to client and business requirements. The DAM support team provides strategy, archive project management, ingestion services, and training in partnership with CBRES IT to manage the ongoing development and help support of DAM for the benefit of the DAM Governance Council, IDC and Chevron end users.
Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
•Responsible for populating DAM with IDC generated and other client archive assets, as required according to corporate taxonomy, policies and DAM Governance Council best practices to enable system browse and search.
•Serves as a metadata and taxonomy Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the DAM application. Keeps up with current trends in Metadata and Information Management Center of Excellence, especially those that most benefit the energy industry and the types of digital assets that IDC develops.
•Responsible for the purchase of 3rd party images required for IDC projects and for ingestion of same according to contract requirements in DAM.
•Provides DAM IDC and Client archive training and support to a variety of personalities, skill levels and users of DAM.
•Provides Help Support Levels 1 and 2 for all DAM users.
•Scopes projects, develops proposals in consultation with DAM Consultant or Account Management Supervisor and monitors budgets and timelines to ensure cost recovery.
•Supports DAM Governance Council events and projects and functions as sub-team member as required, including maintaining process and system documentation.
•Promotes and makes recommendations on policy compliant (and Governance Council endorsed) best practices to ensure metadata, corporate taxonomy, retention schedules, intellectual property and Corporate standards are maintained.
•Conducts and participates in audits and strategic analysis of DAM system maintenance and functionality.
•Collaborates with department Supervisors and Consultants to provide best practice and workflow process recommendations.
•Develops and maintains training and support materials. Help support experience including documentation and process flow for resolution.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Library Sciences or related discipline preferred.
•Minimum 1 - 3 years Digital Asset Management, and/or minimum 3 years related experience such as background in asset management and/or archival systems with specific experience working with digital asset management and digital production technologies.
•Excellent knowledge of DAM (preferably North Plains Telescope) or metadata driven systems, taxonomy and processes.
•Required Software Experience: Basic relational database experience. Competent in Microsoft Office. Basic knowledge of industry-standard graphics packages, especially as they relate to DAM; this includes XMP, xhtml, Adobe Creative Suite 2 and 3 (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat Professional and video/audio file types.
•Strong document management and knowledge management skills. Self-motivated; able to manage multiple assignments concurrently; detail-oriented; excellent organizational skills; strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills; strong follow through abilities; good research skills; ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
•Some project management experience including scoping/proposals, estimating, timeline development.
•Experience in the development and maintenance of processes, implementation and training.

•Experience with North Plains Telescope
