NDSU Library seeks an energetic digital initiatives librarian. The librarian’s primary responsibilities will be to work with units within the library and the greater NDSU community to establish and maintain digital tools and allied web pages. The digital initiatives librarian will also maintain the NDSU Library’s web presence and web applications using standards-compliant markup, provide training for digital services offered; and maintain currency with metadata schema, web technologies and best practices. The digital initiatives librarian will be expected to work some night/evening/weekend shifts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master degree in library and information sciences, or equivalent Experience with computers running Windows or Mac OS. Familiarity with one or more markup languages (HTML, XHTML, etc.) Familiarity with relational database design principles. Experience with design programs, e.g., Photoshop, DreamWeaver. Demonstrated excellent communication skills. Demonstrated project management skills and leadership. Evidence of initiative, flexibility and attention to productivity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A second Masters degree. Demonstrated competence with XML, XSLT, Javascript, Perl, SQL, AJAX and/or other scripting languages related to web services. Familiarity with Unix-like operating systems.
