Hilton M. Briggs Library, South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, is seeking an Integrated Systems Librarian to provide technology support and development assistance, primarily to the library’s Technical Services Division comprised of serials, cataloging, acquisitions, and computer support services. This is a 12-month position with faculty rank.

Responsibilities: Provide technical support for functional aspects of the Ex Libris ALEPH system; maintain a mastery of ALEPH and other core library systems and applications; work collaboratively with South Dakota Library Network staff and campus IT colleagues; provide research support for library collection analysis activities; provide support and training for information systems, including SFX, MetaLib, OCLC Connexion Client, CONTENTdm, ILLiad, and Docutek; supervise the library’s Computer Support Specialist; work limited hours at the information desk; serve as library liaison to one or more academic disciplines; fulfill faculty expectations for librarianship, scholarship, and service to ensure promotion and tenure.

Required: ALA-accredited master’s degree in library science; effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively; graduate coursework and/or employment experience in integrated library systems; graduate coursework and/or employment experience in one or more of the following: digitization, federated searching, serials control, cataloging, metadata, acquisitions, collection development, networking, server applications. Preferred: Second master’s degree (required for tenure track as assistant professor or higher rank); experience in an academic or research library; experience with ALEPH system; experience with web page design and maintenance; experience with instructional and/or presentation software.
