I am a graduate student in the School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) and the Center for the Book at the University of Iowa, where I am currently studying for a Masters of Library and Information Science, as well as a Certificate of Book Studies. As an Olson Fellow, I work part-time in Special Collections, where I assist with several projects, including the digitization of the Editorial Cartoons of Jay Norwood "Ding" Darling.

In the future, I hope to pursue my interests in the history and art of the book through a career in the field of cultural resources as a Special Collections librarian or possibly a museum curator. Other areas of professional interest include the history of libraries, library advocacy and PR, the role of the librarian as teacher, and the possibilities for "greening" our inestimably valuable, but increasingly energy-intensive libraries.
