Late Applications FAQs
Will you accept applications after February 1?
Unfortunately, we cannot give a definitive answer to this question. Most years, we are able to do rolling admissions for our regular on-campus and on-line MA in LIS programs after February 1. If we receive a large number of applications in any given year before February 1, we might not be able to accommodate any more. If it is after February 1, and you would like to inquire if we are accepting late applications, please use this webform. We will no longer be accepting late applications for the online or in-person MA program, past June 15, 2023 for Fall 2023 admission. If you are interested in Fall 2024 admission, please contact the SLIS Program Office with questions.
For the Undergrad to Grad program, please contact Kara Logsden and Katie McCullough to see if we are still taking applications for the year, but we do accept them past February 1.
What are "rolling admissions"?
Rolling admission means we review applications as they're received. Once your application is complete, you will receive an answer within 4 weeks of the submission date.
How do I apply for Fall if it is after the February 1 deadline?
Application procedures are the same if your application is late, with one exception: you MUST submit this webform for your late application to be considered.
Will I still be eligible for financial aid if my application is complete after February 1?
No. You will not be considered in the initial round of SLIS Scholarship or Assistantship offers if your application is late.
You will, however, still be able to receive student loans if you applied late. For information on student loans and all financial aid, please go to The University of Iowa's Financial Aid website.
