Beginning August 2022, Jennifer Burek Pierce will serve as the Interim Director of the School of Library and Information Science.  She will lead the School's search for a new director, a process that will begin this fall. 

In recent years, SLIS has seen its student cohorts grow, reflecting the strength of its offerings in public librarianship and teacher-librarian education.  A new special collections and archives certificate, in addition to its existing partnership with the University of Iowa Center for the Book, are a core part of SLIS's educational mission.
