Biography
Jackie Biger has a Master of Library Science degree from Simmons University with a focus in children's services. She also has a Master in Teaching degree from the University of Iowa. Her professional experiences include public library and school library positions across the K-12 continuum. Jackie was head of youth services in Amherst, New Hampshire and more recently held positions as teacher librarian in both high school and elementary school settings within the state of Iowa. Jackie has taught graduate courses on school library administration, literacy and learning, literature and resources for youth. Jackie is the program coordinator the teacher librarian program and oversees all school library practicum placements and mentoring.
Recent Projects and Presentations
Jackie is serving as project and curriculum writing coordinator for a collaboration between the Stanley Museum of Art and the School of Library and Information Science around upcoming exhibit: To My Friends at Horn: Keith Haring and Iowa City” Jackie serves as co-facilitator of the Iowa Teacher Librarianship Leadership Team.
