The University of Iowa School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) Master of Arts in Library and Information Science Program has been granted continued accreditation by the American Library Association (ALA).

Damien Ihrig, Curator of the John Martin Rare Book Room at the University of Iowa’s Hardin Library for the Health Sciences and 2020 Iowa SLIS graduate, found his librarianship calling after working in academia for nearly two decades.

Māra Wiggins started her library career as a children’s librarian before transitioning to a law librarian position, and finally transferring to her current institution, Southwest Minnesota State University, in 2002.
