Biography

Professor Campbell teaches SLIS 5200 Multimedia, which explores relevant multimedia technology  within the school library setting. The course fosters creativity, critical thinking and communication.  Students gain an understanding of current educational philosophy in order to build a library environment which embodies 21st century learning and create multimedia projects to showcase the personality, presence and power of the library.

Her current K-12 work focuses on collaborating with teachers and students to ensure that digital tools not only elevate library communication, but also prepare students to be a positive presence in the digital age.The work of her students has been showcased on TedEd Clubs, as well as ISTE’s DigCit Commit project. Her innovative work with students’ podcasting can be found on iTunes, Voiced.Ca and other hosting platforms. She co-designed the instructional framework of Design. Drive. Do.  Campbell is the only teacher to be honored twice as Iowa Technology Teacher of the Year by ITEC. Most recently she co-authored an article on Student Voice with Allison Zmuda, which was published in School Library Connection
